Nick Aster is Founder of TriplePundit.com, a resource site focused on the integrated bottom line in business. He is a New Media Architect specializing in using online technology to advance conversations on sustainability. Prior to launching Triple Pundit, he was Media Architect for the online edition of Mother Jones Magazine and helped launch and run TreeHugger.com, one of the world's leading environmental Web sites, which was sold to Discovery Communications in 2007.
Nick’s path began with “a self-study in sustainability on my own without the benefit of a structured curriculum because that's what was available at the time. Notably, my time spent in Prescott, AZ's ECOSA institute really focused me on a career path to address sustainability in business.” Among the many important take-a-ways from his Presidio experience, Nick found great value in “the emphasis on systems thinking -- the indisputable notion that all things are connected. Maintaining a systems thinking perspective has challenged me to constantly consider the impact of business decisions on all stakeholders.”
Nick has also worked in online media as a blog specialist and consultant with companies like Nike, SAP, Gawker Media, and DHL in both consulting and technical roles. He was drawn to Presidio for three reasons: the cutting-edge education, the chance to network with leaders in sustainability, and the challenge of finding a rewarding focus for his career. Nick credits Presidio with building the foundation that has allowed him to communicate the message of people, planet, and profit to businesses large and small.
