Nathan Dahl

As an Associate Planner for the City of Berkeley, Nathan Dahl successfully integrates sustainable practices and policies into his work at the Planning Department. After completing his degree at Brown University in Urban Studies, Nathan came to Presidio Graduate School’s Masters in Public Administration to learn how to effectively integrate sustainability within the public sector. In addition to evaluation of project proposals for the City of Berkeley to ensure consistency within the development standards, Nathan reviews business license applications, By-Right development plans and zoning code enforcement issues.

While at Presidio, Nathan drafted policy amendments for the Berkeley Zoning Ordinance to deconstruct barriers to sustainable development and promote the goals of the City's Climate Action Plan. He also had the opportunity to work closely with Berkeley's Climate Action Plan coordinator, Sustainability Coordinator and the Mayor's office.

Nathan is passionate about youth and serves as the Program Developer for Green Pathways which seeks to inspire and engage young adults to create a personal career pathway in the green economy. He also works closely with the Green Teen Center to empower teens with the tools and knowledge needed to be change agents in their generation and contributes to content for WestEd, a research, development and service agency committed to improving learning opportunities.
