Kate Drane, MBA 2011

Kate Drane is the Stakeholder Outreach Manager for TriplePundit.com, an online resource focused on the integrated bottom line in business. While enrolled at Presidio, she, along with four of her classmates, co-founded PresidioSpace, a co-working and event habitat for sustainable ventures and initiatives of the Presidio Graduate School and greater sustainability communities. Through the Capstone course she and her team had the opportunity to incubate The Can Van, a mobile beer canning service founded on the principles of sustainability.

Prior to attending Presidio, Kate, armed with a BA in Journalism/ Public Relations from Butler University, began her career at Foley & Lardner LLP, serving officially as a legal recruiter and unofficially as the environmental initiatives coordinator for the Chicago office.

The Presidio experience provided Kate with a deep understanding of sustainability as it relates to not just the business world, but also how to communicate the message effectively to her mom. The community pushed her to think critically and develop as a true leader of change. Kate credits the incredible community, in conjunction with her education, with providing her the courage to co-found a business and confidently re-enter the workforce.
